Modern Medicine with Old-Fashioned Care

Dr. Gene Bailey , the owner of Animal Hospital of Peak Plaza, joined the Triangle community in 1996. A graduate of the University of Florida, Dr. Bailey graduated both undergraduate and veterinary school with honors. After a year in general practice in Vermont, he moved to Ft. Lauderale in 1984 to concentrate on practicing intensive small animal medicine and surgery, with his focus on dogs and cats. In 1989, he opened Rock Creek Animal Hospital in Cooper City, Florida, a suburb of Ft. Lauderdale and practiced until leaving in 1996. His hospital developed a reputation for high quality personal service and care that continues to this day. Upon moving to the triangle, Dr. Bailey joined Timberlyne Animal Clinic in Chapel Hill, where he did much of the surgery and handled many complicated internal medicine and oncology cases. He left Timberlyne in the fall of 1998 and become a staff Veterinarian in emergency and critical care at the Veterinary specialty hospital of the Carolinas, a 24 hour emergency critical care and specialty hospital in Cary. Dr. Bailey's desire to foster close long-term relationships and re-enter general practice led to the opening of the Animal Hospital Of Peak Plaza in February 2000.
